The Technical University of Dresden, founded in 1828, is one of Germany’s best established, leading engineering schools. Its mathematical department, located in the historical Willers-Bau building.
The building hosts a famous collection of mathematical models, some of which are on exhibit in showcases.
The mathematical collection has also been integrated in to a searchable online system, called the Digital Archive of Mathematical Models (DAMM) where the individual Gömböc 1828, carrying the year of foundation of the University is featured as item 1157.
