Cornell University, located in New York State, is among the world’s foremost schools: it is consistently 12-14. on the Shanghai ranking for world universities.
The Department of Mathematics, which recently moved to Malott Hall, has excellent reputation on its own.
The Department decided to create a permanent exhibit in its Library where Gömböc 1865, carrying the year of foundation of Cornell, will be visible to students and faculty alike.
At the unveiling ceremony (which was also reported not only in the Cornell Chronicle and the Cornell Daily Sun, but also in Forbes ) several prominent professors appeared.

Gömböc 1865 is the personal donation of one of the inventors, Gábor Domokos, who earlier spent two academic years at Cornell as a Fulbright Fellow and as a Mary Upson visiting professor.
