Mr. András Király, Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of South-Africa presented Gömböc 1910 to Professor Keshlan Govinder, Dean and Head of School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. The ceremony was also attended by dr, László Tóth, honorary consul of Hungary at Durban and Professor Jonathan Blackledge, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research. Professor Blacklegde greeted Ambassador Király on behalf of the university and expressed his appreciation for this significant gift. The serial number 1910 represents the earliest date of the origins of this renowned South African University and the unique Gömböc will be on permanent display at the Science and Technology Education Center of the university. The production of Gömböc 1910 was sponsored by Mr Ottó Albrecht.
