In 2015, the Hungarian team made into the final of one of the world’s top cooking contest’s, the Bocuse d’Or, often called the culinary equivalent of the Olympic games. Named after the chef Paul Bocuse, the contest takes place every second year in Lyon, France. The Hungarian team, lead by chef Gábor Molnár, choose the Gömböc as their central theme. The Gömböc appeared in the most spectacular way on the huge silver meat plate, created by APLI design. At the very center of the plate a free-moving, illuminated, glass-clear plexiglass Gömböc was visible, drawing attention and ovation at the contest hall. The Hungarian team perforemd splendidlyí, finishing in the mid-range of the world’s top teams.
